Rustic Outdoor Lighting Options
Lighting is a very important factor when opting for a rustic décor. During daytime, rustic style promotes natural brightness and pale, natural colors, but in the evening, the rustic look is brought by diffuse and romantic nuances of light. Country lighting doesn't have to limit to the interior of your home. The patio, garden, front porch or surroundings of your house can distinguish through rustic outdoor lighting, especially because the natural background and the moonlight are already creating an artistic and romantic space. Rustic outdoor lighting can be created with rustic style lamps, oil lamps and accessories: hangers, baskets or candles.
The range of outdoor lighting options includes: rail mount lights, umbrella lamps, deck equipment with brick lights, outdoor spotlights, intense nightlights, pathway and pagoda lights, copper outdoor fixtures with bell hanging lights, wall fixtures or overhead mounted lights. When choosing a rustic outdoor lighting system, ignore the austere stainless steel and plastic lamps or metallic wall lights. Instead, opt for a natural aluminum or tile bronze die cast wall lantern, which besides looking rustic, they are made of very resistant metals.
These lamps also include satin crackled glass or seedy glass panels and clear beveled glass accents, a very delicate touch of rustic style. For a more traditional and visible rustic look, try the rustic sconces and pine tree post lights, which include animal patterns (bears, stags) and floral ones (pine cones, leaves). These lamps look like rusted bronze and have an inner diffuse light, so they are not optimum if you need brightness.
Rusted iron is a characteristic rustic element of the English country style. In rustic outdoor lighting, iron can be used for the hangers and chains of the lamps. Place a small outdoor lamp in a knitted wooden basket and then hang it near the main entrance, using a rusted iron chain.
Rustic outdoor lighting can easily be created with a candle décor. Candles are not used just indoors, as there is a wide range of outdoor candles, especially made in larger sizes and with thicker wigs (for bigger flames). Some of these candles are scented anti-mosquito (with cork bottoms or as glow lights), so when using them, you manage to keep a clean and fresh air and create a great rustic outdoor lighting. The scale of such candles includes colored clay pots or terra-cota bowls with poured wax candles, flower tea lights, garden, party or bamboo torches with decorated displays and lamp wicks.
