Rustic House Plans

When building a cabin, a summer house, a country home or even a city house in a green area, you should consider trustic house plans as a great option for your future home. Besides esthetic artistic features and the fact that the rustic style defines welcoming and warm homes, rustic house plans don't imply more work than a modern house structure.

Rustic house plans can apply on numerous sorts of accommodations: vacation homes, duplex, waterfront houses, log homes, basement entry homes and even garage plans. For all these types, a porch is essential when constructing a rustic house; the porch symbolizes the communication between the exterior and the interior of the house, as the passing is less abrupt, more welcoming and friendlier.

To make this area even more hospitable, add a wooden table and craft chairs for family gatherings or chats with neighbors. The porch houses can be built in a chalet's style, with two or three porches and even better, with wrapped around ones. A gabled roof or a rectangular wide umbrella is a more economical option.

Another rustic house plan element is the brick, which can be used both for the exterior and the interior of the house. A natural colored brick wall over the chimney is definitely a rustic statement. A daring variant id is making the wall seem like it has a crack consisting of orange brick.

Usually, rustic homes have siding or shingles exterior finishes. The exterior is painted in more than one color and the combinations are unlimited: white and orange, pale yellow with brown motifs, plain white with dark brown wooden porch or any earthy tones are the most frequent and traditional combinations, while cold colors, such as blue, purple, grey or green are avoided.

When creating your rustic house plans, you should also consider the doors. The doors and windows should allow light to enter in every single space and make the area seem natural and bright. Doors should be wide, even double, with a natural wood aspect, made of pine or oak. Hoods are also a great option, for a more gothic style – these doors especially fit to a large living-room. An element which you shouldn't forget in your rustic house plans is the stone: this can build up walls, chimneys or even indoor and outdoor floors, patio ground or alleys. Stone should be included in its rough and unfinished shaped, with irregularities and colored grey.
