Natural Elements In A Rustic Bathroom

Rustic bathroom elements are a great option to soften the cold, rigid and artless aspect of your bathroom. Due to the fact that there is not much furniture you could fit in the rustic bathroom, the transformation from cold to rustic warmth is done through decor elements and simple, yet effective arrangements. 

When trying to decorate a rustic bathroom, the first step is to remove all the plastic items from the bathroom (besides the strictly necessary ones). Ceramics and glass are accepted, but coloured glass in warm tones is better: place some simple glasses on a shelf and place in them all the modern equipment: toothbrushes, combs, raisers. Metal (rusted metal) is a good option only if the rustic look that you desire is English or French inspired.

Secondly, try to add as many wooden articles as possible: get round wooden hangers for towels or bathrobes and attach simple boards to the walls, which you can use as shelves. The bathroom furniture is represented by small cupboards, which you should pick in a natural wood colour. If you consider that replacing the cupboard takes too much effort, just adhere a wooden looking sheet on the front board or paint it in plain mat white, with floral patterns.

The walls' colour should exclude intense ones, such as turquoise, lilac, cyclamen or red; instead, you should opt for soft yellows and greens, white cream and light bronze. If the walls of your bathroom are white, just choose one free wall and paint a view from inside the ocean, with a blue background, fish and aquatic plants.

Flowers may seem uncommon for a bathroom, but they fit great in a large one, with an oval bathtub. Arrange a small vase with daisies on the tube's corners, among the flower scented candles. Shells, snail shells, ocean stones and sea stars are very efficient when trying to get a rustic bathroom. You can add these small items by gluing them to the mirror corners or frame, to the cupboard or to the door or you can make shell necklaces and hang them to the wooden hangers.

Another great idea is to make an ocean-look-alike bowl, with blue painted water, floating fish, shells and stars and with an ocean plant (which you can purchase from animal stores, as it is an aquarium accessory). This decor, full of plants, floral scents, animal motifs and wooden textures will definitely seem natural and construct a beautiful rustic bathroom.
