Types of Rustic Barstools

Rustic furniture is today one of the styles in the greatest demand. Rustic furniture can include any items from any room, including accessories and equipment, although there are some which are definitely more naturally rustic than others. Among these, there are the rustic stools and rustic barstools, which are country furniture pieces that have been hand crafted since the oldest times. Rustic barstools come in various collections and styles, like log stools, outdoor stools, mission barstools, retro or cafe bar stools and many more.

Rustic barstools are made of various materials: from oak, maple or pine, to wrought iron, steel and chrome. Maple stools are both of solid maple wood and maple weaving and generally, the wooden stools have the most authentic rustic look. The metal chairs and stools are not that rustic. Still, these original kinds of rustic stools are sometimes representative for the older years and characterize a specific period in time, like the 50's or the 60's. The 50's look-alike barstools are build in an "A" shape and have vinyl black seats. An authentic stool from these ages might seem rustic, due to its visible antique qualities.

Some of the stools are built in even older styles, representing neoclassicism, the gothic trend or the Victorian ages. Among these, there are the shorter Bordeaux barstools with scroll work, coat base and bronze high-lights, a more romantic and elegant interpretation of the rustic style.

There are many swivel stools, but these ones are rather too modern to be included in the rustic barstools category. The exception is represented by the wooden swivels with round seats and curvy legs. A very country look is the one provided by the saddle stools. These ones are almost always backless, simply constructed and not taller than 30 inches. Another category of rustic barstools is represented by accessorized ones and the most frequent accessory is the cushion. This is sometimes plain, but more frequent, it has geometrical patters. If the stool is simple and made of any kind of wood, an additional rustic cushion might include it in the traditional rustic style.

Whether made of elegant wrought iron or country unvarnished wood, rustic barstools are high points of attraction and visibility in any room. Rustic barstools are an open option for any kind of kitchen, bar table or counter, as the wide variety and styles of such stools includes all needs and tastes.
