French Country Decor For Weddings

A theme wedding is the latest trend in planning this important event. Whether it's an eccentric idea or one that suggest even more the romanticism for the day, the inspiration can come from various places, cultures or traditions. The French country decor can create an old palace's atmosphere, where luxury and art meet. The elements that shouldn't miss when planning to get a wedding with French county decor are: the bows and frills, the engraved silver plates and the bright covers with tracery.

The bows can be added on the back of each guest chair. These should be feminine and with volume, so they can be made of strong pale pink or bright golden ribbon, shiny on both sides. To stay fit, the bows can have metal supports, but the double bows, arranged as a flower, maintain the position better. In order to be visible, the bows can surround the whole sward bearer. The bows are native French country decors, as they used to ornament almost each corset dress that French aristocratic ladies wore in the 18th and 19th century. The frills can come with the table covers or can be added, having in consideration that they have to have volume and curves. The frills were also part of the old French clothing, as they were added even on the lingerie, like on the under pants till the knees.

French country decor for a wedding also means, if possible, carved metal or better yet, silver, as iron and its derivates is the most significant element of the French country style. The old forks and spoons were smaller than the ones from today and highly decorated, sometimes even made of gold. Still, the wedding tableware has to have a darker, rusted look and not a brilliant and shiny one.

The French country decor fabrics are soft and precious ones, yet without glance. The table covers shouldn't be simple cotton, but embroidered with white lace, matching the tissues with tracery frames. The French ladies used to carry with them white laced handkerchiefs that were matching the delicate lace gloves.

There are not many ways in which you can create a glamorous, yet romantic look for a wedding, but French country decor is one of them, as it brings back the times when ladies of the high society were covering themselves with lace, frills and pink bows and walking through the gothic castles in the Southern France. French country decor suggests a country look more through its oldness aspect, than through simplicity and roughness.
