Country Kitchen Decor in a City House
The kitchen is the space where traditions are carried on, through the cooking process and the family reunions at dinner. That is why the kitchen should create welcoming, cozy and spiritual mood, best offered by the country kitchen decor. The linen pots and the appliquéd towels and covers make this space to be not only a working one, but also a relaxing one. The country kitchen decor fits both a country house and a modern city one, where peace and art are needed.
Whether it's an apartment kitchen or an urban villa one, the country kitchen decor can be adapted in a non country home, but belonging to people that want to conserve the spiritual traditions. These traditions are represented by the old handcrafts, best revealed through wood work. The decor should be based on the wooden furniture and the light colored walls: beige, ivory and neutral tones. The wood, with its unfinished and light texture is the best opportunity for the most creative decors, as it accepts all country colors and shapes. One of the trendiest kitchen decors are the wooden plates, which are written with recognizable mottos or story characters. These can be customized and suitable for every kitchen or home painted by the owners. Some onions or garlic hanging by the kitchen closet, just like in the old farm kitchens are both accessible and artistic at the same time. Besides the fruits and vegetables, which can be disposed wherever, other country kitchen motifs are the animals and flowers (on ceramics, jars and sculpted in the wood).
The clay pots, which can also be handcrafted at home, should be large and full with dry small flowers. These can be set on the round wooden able, in a square cover. Country kitchen decor can also include the English and French iron, which is always rusted. Other similar materials can be chrome or copper, but also the more expensive bronzes.
The modern cooking robots and complicated dishes or luxurious items are better to be ignored, along with the plastics and glasses (except for the colored antique ones, serving as deposit jars) and with the aggressive colors, such as: turquoise, lilac or cyclamen. The dark colors that are not even completely accepted by the futuristic kitchens, can't be integrated in the country kitchen decor. The naturalness that this space will reveal and the artistic touches make the country kitchen decor desirable in city home, as much as in a country house.
