Country Kitchen Accessories

Even the items that seem with standard design and features, as they are technical and used for specialized activities like cooking, can be designed as country kitchen accessories. From the custom and relatively artistic ones, as: pots, shelves, different bowls, dishes, covers and rags, till the faucets, grills, handles or knobs, all country kitchen accessories follow some patterns: bright wood, rusted iron, cream linen and decorated ceramics.

The wood is used for most of the knobs, handles and rag hangers. To look like country kitchen accessories, these are sometimes made of sculpted wood, both varnished and rough. The country trays are made of wood with decorative holders and not out of plastic with fruit prints. The large wooden spoons, in different sizes are even sometimes preferred for cooking, instead of metal ones. These can be displayed in wooden supports on the cooking table.

The ceramics are also great to display: ceramic bowls and plates on the walls or caring fruits. The usage country kitchen accessories made of ceramics, instead glass will increase the rustic level. Modern equipment, such as coffee machines, different robots, TV set, can be inexistent or hidden in closed cupboards, so that they don’t create a contrasting look with the general country aspect.

The iron has a country aspect only it is rusted; for this, there are rust treatment sprays to purchase, which you can apply on anything that it's metal, except dishes. The sliver plates shouldn't be chemically cleaned after they get dark gray, as this is what gives them their country look. Dark silver is considered a country as it is inspired by the antique kitchen objects, used at royalty dinners: teapots, spoons or chrome trays. Copper is also an option for country kitchen accessories, especially because of its intense color, but only used for small items.

Linen is also a country kitchen accessory fabric. This is used for pot holders and table covers, which are usually quilted and appliqued. The soft linen curtains are usually short and lacking ornaments, but there are also some country homespun curtains with valances and swags, or some that match the other linen items in the kitchen.

Country kitchen accessories lack plastic, glass or intensively processed materials, modern tools, as these contrast with the traditional cooking objects, which were manually handcrafted. The list of country kitchen accessories can extend even to appliqued plastic bags, small metal supports, collectable cookie cutters, deposit cans, placemats or oven buttons.
