Tips On Decorating Seaside Country Homes

Seaside homes have the advantage of being already situated in a country decor, far from modernism and close to nature. This is why people choose the look of country homes for their seaside houses, as the country style fits with the near surroundings. Seaside country homes differ from the furry and unfinished mountain country ones, as the basic elements of the ocean and beach have to be brought inside and inspire the decorations.

The wood is still the star of these summer country homes, in its light colors. All plastics and synthetic materials should miss, leaving space to earthy textures: natural colored cloth, cotton and stone. The legs and lines on the furniture have to be straight and lacking ornaments or sculpted wood. Instead of these, cover the sofa and the armchairs with a simple white sheet and just let the legs of the furniture show; then add on it some dark brown, cotton pillows in cylinder shape. The wooden floors and tables can remain uncovered and also, rock decor creates a great effect, set in bathroom or terrace.
 
Shells mustn't miss from the seaside country homes. Get a tall bottle with a large neck and a rustic wooden plug. Then collect the finest sand from the shore and the tiniest snail shells and the smallest ocean stones. Place a layer of stones, then a layer of stone and on top, one of shells and repeat the same procedure twice, till the end on the bottle. Set this original decor on a corner table with an ocean blue cover, near a large seashell. Or, get 2 glass bowls and orange colored sand that you can find in home accessories stores. One bowl should be deeper and wider and one should be flatter and smaller. Place the sand in the smaller glass, but make sure it won’t be too heavy for floating on water. Then add water in the other; you can color the water with regular ink, in order to look like the sea. You can add plants for fish aquariums and in the sand bowl; you should place shells, stones and other beach related decor. Put the small bowl in the other and enjoy your sea and beach country decor.
 
To get a real country home look, just resume to the light colors: cream, egg, caramel and straight shapes, short legs and flat textures. The seaside country homes are welcoming summer flowers, placed in wide ceramic vases on the floor.
